HILLARY CLINTON- BRINGING OUR AMERICA BACK
Hillary Rodham Clinton was born on October 26, 1947 in Chicago, Illinois. She attended Wellesley College where she studied political science. In 1973 she graduated from Yale Law School and began a highly successful legal career. Two years later she moved to Arkansas and married William Jefferson Blythe Clinton. They have one daughter. Clinton is a Methodist.
Clinton became a partner at the Rose Law Firm, the first woman to do so, and served as First Lady of Arkansas when her husband was elected Governor, first from 1978-81, then again in 1983-92. From 1993 to 2001 she was First Lady of the United States and helped shape national policy. In 2000 she won election to the US Senate from New York.
In the Senate Clinton has served on the Committee on Armed Services and the Committee on Environment and Public Works, among others. Though she voted for the Iraq War in 2003, she subsequently became very critical of President Bush’s handling of the conflict. Clinton voted against the Bush tax cuts, believing them to be fiscally irresponsible. Clinton stood in support of Gay rights when she voted against the Federal Marriage Amendment in 2004 and 2006. Clinton is pro-choice and pro-gun control.
Clinton’s solid liberal credentials and record of intelligent, hard work in the Senate make her an ideal presidential candidate.
